Welcome friend, I’m Benn Marine, a documentary-style photographer focused on conferences, events, and moments where people come together to build something bigger than themselves.

My work is grounded in observation rather than orchestration. I don’t direct much, and I don’t overproduce. I pay attention. I look for the moments between the moments: the glance exchanged after a hard conversation, the laughter that breaks tension, the stillness before applause, the quiet intensity of people listening closely. Those are the images that tell the real story of an event.

I came to photography through movement and action sports, where timing, anticipation, and trust matter more than perfection. That background shaped how I work today. I know how to move through a space without disrupting it, how to read energy quickly, and how to capture what’s unfolding in real time without asking anyone to perform for the camera.

As a transgender man, I’m deeply attuned to who is seen, who isn’t, and how people experience space. That awareness shows up in my work in subtle but meaningful ways. I photograph with care for people’s dignity, complexity, and presence, whether I’m documenting a national conference, a community gathering, or a moment of collective action. My goal is always the same: to create images that feel honest, human, and grounded in reality.

Clients hire me when they want more than highlight shots. They want photographs that reflect the purpose of their work, the people behind it, and the atmosphere they worked hard to create. Images that can live beyond social posts—used for storytelling, reporting, fundraising, and remembering why the work matters in the first place.

At the core, I see photography as a form of witnessing. When done well, it helps people feel recognized and helps organizations tell truer stories about who they are and what they stand for.

If you’re hosting a gathering where ideas, relationships, and momentum matter, I’d be glad to help document it.
